I have served the citizens of Monroe County as a Public Defender for fifteen years. In 2017 I was promoted to Chief Assistant. As a Public Defender I have represented thousands of clients in cases ranging from misdemeanors to capital felonies. I am one of only a small number of attorneys in Monroe County qualified to handle death penalty cases. As Chief Assistant I have supervised, trained, and mentored dozens of attorneys. Before becoming a Public Defender I worked in civil litigation handling cases across Florida. I am a proud Key West High School graduate, received my B.A. from Emory University and my Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. I live in Monroe County with my beautiful wife and two amazing daughters.
