Dr Jim Doran began teaching in Key Largo in 1971. He was Monroe County Teacher of the Year in 1975 and started the Key Largo Safety Patrol. Dr Jim began a 40-year career in international education in 1976. He is running for school board to bring his extensive knowledge, experience, and passion to the students of the Florida Keys and to make sure there is an educator on the board. Dr Jim assists the Coral Reef Foundation and he is the Flotilla Staff Officer for Ops in the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
